CDP processing enables Data Cloud to perform many CDP functions like identity resolution, segmentation, real-time profiles, query services, Einstein predictions, and activations.
Salesforce Data Cloud can be connected with several activation channels, such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Facebook, Google AdSense, LinkedIn, and more, to reach the right audience at the right time.
In Salesforce Data Cloud, the Control Plane and the Management Plane refer to two distinct components of the platform:
- Control Plane: The Control Plane is responsible for managing access to the Data Cloud platform and its resources. It includes features such as authentication, authorization, and access control, ensuring that users have the appropriate permissions to access and modify data.
The Control Plane provides a centralized location for managing security policies, user access, and other governance controls. It also supports integration with third-party identity providers and authentication protocols, such as Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Management Plane: The Management Plane is responsible for managing and configuring the CDP platform itself. It includes features such as data ingestion, data mapping, data transformation, and data delivery.
The Management Plane provides a user-friendly interface for managing data workflows, creating data pipelines, and configuring integrations with external systems. It also includes tools for data quality management, data lineage tracking, and data governance.
In Salesforce Data Cloud, data connectors and ingress are used to bring customer data into the platform.
- Data Connectors: Data connectors are pre-built integrations that allow Salesforce Data Cloud to connect to a variety of external data sources, such as CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, and social media channels. These connectors simplify the process of bringing data into the platform, allowing organizations to quickly ingest and use customer data from a range of sources.
Salesforce Data Cloud provides a range of pre-built data connectors, including connectors for Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketo, Eloqua, Google Analytics, and Facebook. Additionally, the platform supports custom data connectors, enabling organizations to build their own integrations with external systems.
- Ingress: Ingress refers to bringing data into Salesforce Data Cloud, whether through data connectors, file uploads, or other means. The platform provides a range of ingress options, including batch file uploads, real-time API integrations, and streaming data ingestion.
